David Strait
President & CEO

David Strait is a known expert in all types of food certification standards, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance, with a wide and varied background in the food industry.  Prior to entering consulting full time, he worked as a Plant Manager, Production Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager in a variety of industry sectors, giving him a practical understanding of plant operations and personnel and the realities of effecting meaningful change in an organization.  David was also an Auditor having conducted SQF, HACCP, GMP, and GAP, audits with several nationally recognized certification bodies.

David founded Strait Consulting Services, Inc. in 2009, in order to help small to mid-sized companies develop practical and effective quality management systems, and to achieve and maintain food certifications.  Over the years he systemized his unique and effective methods for consulting and implementation and trained his staff in these methods.  As SCS continues to grow David has moved into a leadership role in the organization, directly overseeing sales, finance, and business development.

In addition, as our in-house Food Safety Trainer David continues to give thoughtful and engaging training courses which not only meet training requirements for the various standards but also are effective in giving students a solid and practical understanding of the material. He is a certified trainer for the International HACCP Alliance, AFDO Seafood HACCP Course, FSPCA Preventive Control for Human Food, Implementing SQF Systems, and Qualified Auditor Training courses, all of which are taught throughout the year at our New Jersey training center and other locations across the country.


Johanna Vera
Consulting Services Manager & Senior Consultant

As the Senior Consultant at Strait Consulting Services Johanna has extensive knowledge in all types of certification standards and regulations, and tremendous experience guiding companies through the process of certification and compliance.  She is popular with our clients for her pleasant yet no-nonsense approach to implementing systems, project management, and problem solving.  Johanna also fills the role of Consulting Services Manager making her the lead on all project with primary responsibility for scheduling, project management, customer service, and overseeing the consulting staff.  She has a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from State University of New York at Purchase, and a background in food plant operations dealing with USDA,  FDA, GMP, and SQF compliance.


Blanca Weston
Associate Consultant

The newest addition to our consulting team, Blanca brings a lot of energy to her projects.  She gives practical, hands-on guidance, helping clients understand technical concepts in a way that is easy to understand. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is an excellent trainer and conducts regular on-site employee training sessions in all food safety topics. Blanca has an academic background at Passaic County Community College and William Paterson University and work experience as a Food Safety Manager in the Bakery and Dairy industries.


Tatiana Campos

Administrative Coordinator

Tatiana is the key person on the business side of our operations, responsible for sales & marketing, website & social media, accounting, office management, training course management, and whatever else needs to be done to help manage & grow the company.  Tatiana is a master organizer, able to translate ideas & visions to the practical steps necessary to bring them to fruition.  With more than 10 years of business administrative experience,  Tatiana has an AA in Business & Entrepreneurship from Eastwick College and is completing her Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Felician University.
